1 sur 8 milliards AI simulator: data and method

The birthplace draw gives a fictional life a statistical starting point. It does not estimate the future of a real person. The AI story and game rules are separate from the public demographic inputs.

How the birthplace draw works

For the AI life, each of 172 countries is weighted by estimated births in 2023. A seed selects a country reproducibly. You can set a birth year between 1950 and 2023, but this snapshot uses the same 2023 country weights for every year. It is not a year-specific historical birth lottery.

What the story receives

The AI writer receives country, birth year, fictional family resources, temperament, current age, fictional 0–100 attributes, relationships, previous decisions and the current approved choices. The rules engine—not the model—updates outcomes. The account email and character name are excluded from the generation prompt.

Limits of the simulation

A national average cannot describe individual opportunity. Family resources, personality, events and outcomes are fictional; AI prose may be inaccurate or anachronistic. The 172-country snapshot excludes some areas and does not reproduce the 216-area model used by other services.

Public data references

The country snapshot uses birth estimates aligned with UN World Population Prospects 2024. Supporting country indicators are drawn from public World Bank and health datasets. Source years vary by indicator; see each provider for definitions and revisions.
